Digital Forensics Challenge 2018
■ 참가자격 : 디지털포렌식에 관심있는 누구나(6인 이내 팀구성)
■ 챌린지 기간 : 2018. 8. 1 ~ 10. 31
■ 워크숍 및 시상식 : 2018. 11. 28 엘타워(서초구 강남대로)
■ 신청방법 : 홈페이지에서 신청
■ 참가분야 : Digital Forensics Challenge / Tech Contest
[Digital Forensics Challenge]
- 5 categories of challenge : Anti-Forensics, Incident response, Internet of Things, Volume, and Artifacts.
- Each category contains five problems that are equivalent to 100, 200, 300, 400, or 500 score.
* 100-point problem : Problems that can be solved using known theories and tools
* 200-point problem : The theory is not as widely known as the 100 point problem, but it can be solved easily by knowing the principle
* 300-point problem : Problems requiring analysis know-how as they may be time consuming with known tools
* 400-point problem : Problems requiring new tool implementation. The solution is known to some extent, but it can not be solved by existing tools alone
* 500-point problem : Problems with an unknown solution
- There is no limit on the number of submissions within the due date, but there is a disadvantage when submitting after the due date.

- Send email to korea.df.challenge@gmail.com with the subject line “[team name][problem number]” after registration.

[Tech Contest]
- Submission deadline: Oct. 31, 2018, 23:59 KST
- This project is looking for previously unpublished forensic analysis. The goal is to identify new opportunities to help investigators discover clues to solve real cases. All submissions must include a detailed response that explains the type of information stored and how it can be reproduced.
- Major topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Digital Profiling
* Deepfake detection
* Darkweb Crawling
* BIOS/UEFI Malware
* ReFS | APFS FileSystem
* Cloud Forensics
* VM Forensics
* Full Wiping Countermeasure
* FDE (Full Disk Encryption)
* Secure Messenger (Signal, Telegram, WhatsApp, QQ, etc.)
* Portable OS artifacts
- You can write in a free report form and there is no limit in submission before the due date. It will be evaluated based on practicality for forensic investigations, newsworthiness, and overall business impact. (If you submit your own developed tools that analyze proposed artifact, you’ll have additional scores.)

- For Korean team,
* The winner will receive ￦5,000,000.
* The top two and three will receive ￦2,000,000.
- For foreigner team,
* The winner will receive ￦1,500,000 as a prize and ￦2,500,000 for transportation.
[기술공모 시상(Tech Contest)]
- For Korean team,
* The winner will receive ￦3,000,000.
* The top two will receive ￦1,000,000.
- For foreigner team,
* The winner will receive ￦1,000,000 as a prize and ￦2,500,000 for transportation.
